About
Us
First let me introduce
you to my family. I have 5 children.
My oldest daughter, Dawn a Product Coordinator, lives
in NJ. My 2nd daughter, Salina a Branch Manager, lives
in NJ. 3rd is my son, Daniel an Electrician, who lives in
PA. Six years ago I was graced with twins, Lauren and
Summer. My husband, Kevin, is a Production Supervisor
in the Rocky Mountains oil fields. I live near the beautiful
Rocky Mountains. I enjoy 4-wheeling in the summer and
snowmobiling in the winter. I have to adjust my oxygen
for the altitude
During my pregnancy
with the twins I experienced
difficulties with diabetes, pre-eclempsia, and hives. During their
delivery blood clots entered my lungs; I
developed pleural edema, (fluid around my lungs), and
found out that I had an enlarged heart. The combination
of these factors caused respiratory damage that, in time,
necessitated the use of supplementary oxygen.
I have talked to other
respiratory patients over the
last few years; they often told me about how they
wanted more information but either had a hard time
finding reliable information or were discouraged by the
overwhelming complexity of the medical terms when
they started searching. Another frequent complaint was
that they had to struggle to find products and equipment
that would allow them to achieve the best level of daily
respiratory function in order to have the best quality of
life.
Another
goal is to
reach the
majority of respiratory
patients both
in the United States and
Globally so that they can become
knowledgeable consumers and enable them
to make informed choices regarding products and
treatments.
No matter where you
live, no matter what
your condition - you
have a voice and we
are listening. I would
like this magazine
to bring awareness
to both awmakers
and manufacturers
regarding the needs
and desires of
espiratory patients both Nationwide and Worldwide.
I live in the
mountains and I hope to move mountains in the Respiratory World.
Sincerely,
Holly Lockwood
